1. Follow Your Orthopedic Surgery Recovery Plan

Your surgeon and rehabilitation team should be your first source of guidance after surgery.

Your recovery plan may include instructions about:

  • How much weight you can put on the affected limb
  • When and how to use crutches, a walker, or another walking aid
  • When you can begin specific exercises
  • How often you should attend physical therapy
